It's Never A Mistake To Care For Someone
so i watched the movie Radio and let me begin by saying that that is the only movie that makes me cry from start to finish. no joke. like the tears do not stop. especially when the football players put him in the shed and scare him but throwing footballs at it. and when he goes to jail. and when the guys trick him into going into the girls locker room. and when his mom dies...its just a cry fest for me. i usually don't cry at movies but Radio is an exception. i even cry at the happy-ish parts. i love it so much.
the title of this post is actually a quote from the movie. its something Mrs. Jones says when Coach Jones is talking about how Radio would've been better off if he would've let him be. i love that quote. it's beautiful and inspirational.
i think this movie as a whole is inspirational. i always feel bad when people make fun of other people for things they cant control. i'm sure that a physically or mentally disabled person didn't choose to have that disability so why do people find it necessary to tease them. it just breaks my heart. i think Radio is inspirational because towards the end you can see a change in all of the characters. Coach Jones shows his sensitive side which is sorta unusual for an athletic director, many of the jocks take a liking to Radio and they befriend him, and the entire town just seems to become more accepting. it's a happy change.
i especially love the fact that this movie is based on a real story and when i watched it, i also watched the commentary and the interviews with the real Coach Jones (they didn't interview Radio) and i was just so fascinated by it.
when i get older, i definitely wanna look into a career that can help people who are at disadvantages in their lives. people with physical and mental disabilities. learning disorders. and depression disorders. even addictions. i want to touch people's lives and make a difference to them. i wanna be their friend and i want to care for them. be there when no one else is. i think it would be an extremely rewarding job.

Im Back! [When Did You Leave?] Oh...
August 7th-August 10th i was gone at our state fair. yeah county fair is cool and all but state is way bigger and a lot more fun. nothing much happened at state fair that didnt happen and county but ima tell you bout it anyway.
the first day wasnt too exciting. some of the girls were causing drama cuz they didnt get the people they wanted in their dorm rooms. i was lucky and got a halfway decent room with a bottom bunk by the window so i could look outside and watch all the lil people below. we had three showchoir performances. and let me mention right now that the food at the dorm building is the most volatile shit in the entire universe. there is no stomaching it so most people just eat salad the entire time [or cereal for breakfast].
second day only had two performances so i took some time to walk around with my friends and see the fair a bit. i also played some of our showchoirs traditional card games like Egyptian Rat Screw. dont know how to play? theres a reason for that...anyway. this other showchoir from a different county arrived [they are called Lyve] and so we were hanging out with a couple of people from there like this russian girl whose name i cannot spell. it was purdy cool. also, me and some of the girls from my dorm ordered some pizzas so we didnt have to eat the food and all the other people [especially the people we hate] were totally jealous of us so they ordered their own but they got in trouble cuz they forgot to ask. booyah bitches!
on the third day, we had three more performances and by now the chaperons we getting on everyones nerves and i was starving my ass off. i did a bit more walking around to see the sights and played a few games of Apples to Apples cuz i brought the game but i had forgotten about it until this point in time.
the final day we only had one performance but the other time was spent cleaning all the dorms and transferring luggage [i forgot to mention that the dorms looked shitty as hell when we arrived so we had to clean them then also] we got a lil pizza party as a congratulations and i bought a dinosaur marionette. then we hopped on the bus and went back home.

Meet Me On State Street...
woah...i'm seriously in love with Beck. i'm gonna put a video bar at the bottom of my blog so you should check out some of his videos. i love his new cd Modern Guilt tho i have not purchased it yet.
yesterday was a very bad day for me...i dont know why...
i'm listening to the Dresden Dolls right now. they are sorta one of those bands that you have to be in a certain mood in order to enjoy their music. for me, i think they are a good winter band...[maybe ill explain that later]
this morning around 10:47 am i finally discovered what my favorite MCR song was. [speaking of MCR, their poster keeps falling off my wall =P] so yeah, i've liked this song for a very long time and i've always favored it but i never recognized it as my favorite until now. now i know this isn't ground breaking news or anything but get over it. It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Deathwish
i'm dying for a road trip of some kind...im going to our state fair soon. on august 7-10. yay! dorm rooms. ill wait to write about that until i actually get back from the trip cuz i don't really feel like explaining right now. anyway, i really wanna go to Madison cuz i love State Street. i love the hippie stores and i love seeing all the people walking around [there are some interesting characters] its just really fun and i love long rides in the car especially when i'm listening to my ipod [raphael] its a peaceful time.
i kinda like the band Tickle Me Pink...i wanna check out some more of their music...

Busy Being Bored
life is bringing me zero amusement at this point in time. seems like all i do these days is spend 5 hours in the morning getting ready for a day spent not leaving my house and then after that i just sit around on the computer, listening to music, and watching the telly. dont get me wrong, listening to music will never get boring to me but its the computer and television that are completely old. im sick of talking to people on the internet cuz i know ill never actually meet them and im sick of watching the telly cuz there is never anything on. im even bored with texting people. I LOVE YOU ALEX! but your the only person who actually produces a real conversation that does not equal lol or haha all the friggin time.
therefore, my alternative activities for the past few days have been sitting in my room listening to music and attempting to draw. i say attempting cuz i rarely have ideas. im sick of drawing the same things all the time so yeah. instead i take interesting song lyrics and make mini lil pictures to go with thing. hey, what can i say? im no artist...mkay?
*sigh*
i dont want summer to end [even tho im sick of sitting at home] but i just dont wanna go back to school. my first year of high school. im scared shitless. its the idea of growing up. my three years of middle school went by so fast and i just wish i could have them back. im not too good at adapting to new situations so im sure that my first week of high school is gonna amount to loads of anxiety and depression. its not gonna be as easy as middle school. so yeah, im just scared like most kids are and nothing anybody can say about "highschool is so much fun" can make me feel anything different.
